Zaide

Zaide Salzburg 1780 is an artisan patisserie founded by Pastry Chef Hüsnü Taylan Tekcan in Antalya. The brand is named after the famous Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera piece Zaide, Das Serail, composed in 1780.

Vienna, one of the two capitals of pastry in the world, has had close relations with the Ottoman Empire throughout history, whether through trade or war. It has witnessed two major sieges and has been one of the parties to many cultural exchanges, from coffee to the arts. During the years when trade was thriving, it is rumored that Mozart, inspired by a Turkish girl named Zaide whom he fell in love with, composed this piece, which he could not complete. After his death, this piece was completed and performed on stage.
