Selen is a distinguished design consultant at Karbon, bringing a wealth of experience and a unique interdisciplinary perspective to our team. Her journey in design began with her graduation from Istanbul Technical University’s Department of Architecture in 1999. Shortly after, Selen expanded her expertise by joining the Visual Communication Design Department at Bilgi University. Here, she played a pivotal role as a project coordinator for the department’s professional design team, consistently delivering industry-focused design solutions. In 2000, she furthered her academic pursuits, becoming a research assistant and subsequently completing her master’s degree in Visual Communication Design at Pratt Institute, a testament to her dedication to mastering her craft.
Since 2005, Selen has been a vital part of the Karbon team, contributing her profound expertise as a design consultant. Her work primarily focuses on key areas such as branding, identity, concept development, and marketing communication. Selen’s blend of architectural understanding and visual communication prowess allows her to craft holistic and impactful strategies that truly resonate with our clients’ visions.
AKGÜN ÖZÜEKREN

Akgün is a highly experienced design consultant at Karbon, whose distinguished career began with his graduation from Yıldız Technical University’s Department of Architecture. Even before completing his studies, Akgün immersed himself in the professional world, joining Kovuk İnşaat.
For a decade, he collaborated closely with Architect Yalçın Özüekren, contributing to a wide spectrum of design processes. His work during this period spanned from expansive urban planning initiatives to intricate residential interior design, including significant projects like the Ispartakule Housing Development in Istanbul, Casablanca, and North Macedonia. Akgün also played a crucial role in the notable restoration project that transformed the historic Sultanahmet Prison into the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel, showcasing his versatility and respect for architectural heritage.
Further enriching his multidisciplinary expertise, he completed a master’s degree in Industrial Product Design at Istanbul Technical University.
Since 2005, Akgün has been an invaluable asset to the Karbon team, serving as a design consultant. His primary focus areas include concept development, architectural design, and interior architecture, where he consistently applies his comprehensive understanding to deliver innovative and impactful solutions.
